The K&N 69-7084TS Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit some Nissan Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 models. The K&N Typhoon air intake replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system is designed to smooth and straighten air flow, dramatically reducing air flow restriction. This allows your engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air intake for more acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 69-7084TS air intake comes with a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space, helping to keep radiant heat from the engine away from air as it enters the intake. The smooth intake tube funnels air directly into the engine's throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor and crank case vent hose. The attractive silver powder-coat finish on the tube is meant to last, keeping this intake looking good for years. Also included is a chrome topped K&N high-flow air filter that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed, depending on driving conditions. The installation process for this intake system is relatively simple, using existing factory mounting points and usually taking 90 minutes or less. The tools needed are common: a flat blade screwdriver, a Phillips screwdriver, a ratchet set, and 2 allen keys (3mm and 4mm). Some Typhoon air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards while others are CARB exempt and 50 state legal. Check the K&N catalog or website for vehicle applications and specific CARB status for each vehicle and air intake.
